Avelo Airlines Tops Industry in April Operational Reliability

• Avelo ranked #1 in on-time performance among all U.S. carriers in April
• Avelo achieved industry’s lowest flight cancellation rate with no cancellations in April

HOUSTON; May 8, 2024 – Avelo Airlines announced today it led the U.S. airline industry in operational reliability in April. The airline ranked #1 in on-time performance and achieved the lowest flight cancellation rate among all U.S. carriers.

These results are reported by Anuvu based on their third-party data platform. Anuvu is utilized by The Wall Street Journal for the publication’s annual best and worst airline ranking.

Avelo delivered an on-time performance in April with 88.6% of its flights arriving at their destinations within 15 minutes of their scheduled arrival time – the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) standard metric for reporting on-time performance in the U.S. airline industry known as A14. Avelo’s #1 ranking eclipsed the industry average of 80.1%.

Avelo also achieved the lowest flight cancellation rate among all U.S. carriers, cancelling 0% of its flights in April. That means Avelo operated every one of their 1,371 scheduled flights last month during the height of the busy spring break travel period.

Year-to-date (January through April) Avelo ranked #2 in on-time performance and delivered the second-best flight cancellation rate in the industry. Avelo’s 2024 results build on its 2023 industryleading performance in which the airline achieved the lowest flight cancellation rate and ranked #2 in on-time performance.

Last week Avelo began inaugurating the first of 17 new routes taking flight over the next two months, including 10 new destinations: Albany, NY (via ALB); Atlanta, GA (via ATL); Charlotte / Concord, NC (via USA); Destin / Fort Walton Beach, FL (via VPS); Houston, TX (via HOU); Knoxville, TN (via TYS); Orlando / Lakeland, FL (via LAL); Miami, FL (via MIA); St. Louis, MO (via STL); and Traverse City, MI (via TVC).
