A constantly evolving city, in recent years amazing new venues have been built throughout Las Vegas, drastically changing the sports and entertainment landscape. New resorts since 2020 include Circa Resort & Casino on the Fremont Street Experience in downtown, Virgin Hotels Las Vegas at the former site of the Hard Rock Hotel, and Resorts World Las Vegas, the first ground-up new resort on Las Vegas Blvd in more than a decade.
In 2023, the $2 billion MSG Sphere, currently under construction behind The Venetian Resort, is expected to debut with 17,500 seats, an exosphere with 580,000 square feet of programmable lighting, the largest and highest-resolution LED screen on Earth, and advanced acoustics and an infrasound haptic system enabling guests to feel sound. Fontainebleau Las Vegas is also expected to open in 2023 with 3,700 rooms and 550,000 square feet of meeting and convention space.
