Avelo Airlines Announces New Nonstop Route from Tweed: Aguadilla, Puerto Rico & Swaps Houston Service to Bush

NEW HAVEN, Conn.; June 24, 2026 — Avelo Airlines today announced exclusive nonstop service to Aguadilla, Puerto Rico’s Rafael Hernández Airport (BQN) from Southern Connecticut’s most convenient airport – Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN). The airline also announced it will begin flying to Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) this fall.
Avelo’s route to Aguadilla will start on Thursday, November 19 with twice-weekly service on Thursdays and Sundays, utilizing Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft. Aguadilla, which marks another expansion of Avelo beyond the continental United States, will be the second Puerto Rican destination Avelo serves, joining San Juan. Avelo also announced it will begin serving Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) with nonstop service to Southern Connecticut’s most convenient airport – Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN). This route will start on September 21, 2026, with twice-weekly service on Mondays and Fridays. Avelo previously served Houston’s Hobby Airport (HOU).
